In the cable industry, the following environmentally friendly materials are widely used:

1. Low smoke halogen-free (LSZH) flame retardant material: PVC material that abandons heavy metals such as lead and cadmium releases only a small amount of water vapor during combustion, which can avoid toxic smoke hazards to human health and the atmosphere.

2. Biodegradable bio based plastics: used to replace traditional petroleum based insulation layers, with over 85% of components being recyclable and achieving recyclable design.

3. Special flame retardant material: Used for fire-resistant power cables, it not only does not release toxic and harmful gases in extreme situations such as fires, but also effectively prevents the spread of fire.

4. Polyethylene: Used for waterproof power cables, through innovative waterproof technology, it reduces cable damage and waste caused by moisture infiltration, extends cable service life, indirectly reduces resource consumption and waste generation.

5. Mineral insulation material: Used for mineral insulated cables, it has excellent high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance, which can reduce the need for frequent replacement due to environmental factors and reduce the burden on the environment.

6. Radiation crosslinking halogen-free low smoke materials: In the production process, the material properties are improved through radiation crosslinking technology, while eliminating halogen components. The smoke generated during combustion is low and non-toxic, reducing the harm to air quality and human health.

7. Biodegradable insulation materials: When used in combination with recyclable metals such as recycled copper and aluminum alloys, they can reduce the emission of harmful gases during cable combustion and alleviate environmental pollution.

8. Carbon fiber: Carbon fiber composite wires made from it as raw material have a series of advantages such as light weight, high tensile strength, and good heat resistance, and can be used for various line construction and renovation.

Compared to traditional materials, environmentally friendly materials have multiple advantages in terms of performance:

Harmful substance content and environmental characteristics

  • Low pollution: Traditional cables may contain harmful substances such as lead, cadmium, and hexavalent chromium, which can contaminate soil and water sources. The content of harmful substances in environmentally friendly wires and cables is strictly controlled within the scope of EU RoHS regulations, and must not contain substances that are harmful to the environment, which will not cause pollution to soil and water sources.
  • Degradable: Some environmentally friendly materials, such as biodegradable biobased polymer sheath materials, can naturally degrade at the end of their service life, reducing the impact of cable waste on the environment.

Flame retardant performance

Good flame retardant effect: Environmentally friendly flame retardant wires and cables have good flame retardant performance. When encountering flames and sources of fire, they can prevent the rapid spread and diffusion of flames, control them in a limited area, and reduce losses.

Low smoke, halogen-free, and low toxicity: halogen-free environmentally friendly flame-retardant wires do not contain halogens, and will not produce harmful or corrosive gases after combustion. The gas released during combustion has the characteristics of low smoke, halogen-free, and low toxicity without reducing the flame retardant level.

Electrical and Mechanical Performance

  • High voltage resistance: When graphene composite materials are applied in the field of cable insulation, the breakdown field strength can reach 500kV/mm, greatly improving the voltage resistance of cables compared to traditional materials.
  • High strength: The strength of ACCC carbon fiber composite wire is twice that of ordinary wire, the tensile strength of ordinary steel wire is 1240-1410Mpa, and the strength of its carbon fiber mixed cured core rod is twice that of the former.
  • High conductivity: ACCC carbon fiber composite wires have high conductivity and can save 6% energy. Under the same load conditions, they have lower operating temperatures and can reduce transmission losses.

Other performance

  • Lightweight: ACCC carbon fiber composite wire is 10-20% lighter than traditional wire, with a specific gravity of about 1/4 of steel. At the same outer diameter, the aluminum cross-sectional area is 1.29 times that of conventional wire.
  • Low sag: Compared with traditional wires, ACCC carbon fiber composite wires have lower sag and sag less than half of steel cored aluminum stranded wires under high temperature conditions. This can effectively reduce the insulation space corridor of overhead wires and improve the safety and reliability of wire operation.
  • Corrosion resistance: ACCC carbon fiber composite wires and biodegradable biobased polymer sheath materials have good corrosion resistance. ACCC wires also avoid the problem of electrochemical corrosion between aluminum wires and galvanized steel wires when the conductor is energized, effectively delaying the aging of the wire and extending its service life.
  • Waterproof and UV resistant: The special molecular structure of environmentally friendly wires and cables can produce materials with ultra-low water absorption, and special UV absorbers are added to give the product excellent waterproof and UV resistant performance.
  • High light transmittance: The smoke generated by the combustion of environmentally friendly cables is relatively thin, and the light transmittance of the product is greater than 40%, far higher than the standard of traditional flame-retardant cables with a light transmittance of less than 20%, which is conducive to evacuation and fire extinguishing work.
