The Difference Between Control Cable and Signal Cable

As is well known, cables can be divided into many products such as control cables and signal cables due to different requirements and occasions. Many friends who are not familiar with wire products sometimes confuse these two types of wires, but in reality, there are significant differences between them. So what is the difference between control lines and signal lines?
1. The characteristics of control cables and signal cables are different
Each core wire of the control cable is grounded with the rest of the core wire. The control cable is greater than 10000M Ω· km, and the HYAT cable is greater than 3000M Ω· km. Usually, the signals transmitted by signal lines are very small. To avoid signal interference, there is a shielding layer outside the signal line. The shielding layer that wraps the conductor is generally made of conductive cloth, woven copper mesh, or copper foil (aluminum), and the shielding layer needs to be grounded. External interference signals can be introduced into the ground through this layer to prevent interference signals from entering the internal conductors and reduce the loss of transmission signals.
2. Different use of control cables and signal cables
Control cables are suitable for industrial and mining enterprises, energy and transportation departments. PVC insulated and PVC sheathed control cables are used for control and protection circuits with AC rated voltage below 450/750 volts. Sensor signal cables are used for signal transmission of various sensors and instruments. The sensor signal line adopts silver plated conductors and multi-core structure to ensure consistent resistance height between each core. It can accurately transmit weak electrical signals hundreds of meters away.
3. The materials of control cables and signal cables are different
The core wire of the control cable is copper core, with a nominal cross-section of 2.5 mm or less and 2 to 61 cores; 4 to 6 mm, 2 to 14 cores; 10mm, 2 to 10 cores. The working temperature of the control cable is 65 ° C for rubber insulation and 70 ° C and 105 ° C for PVC insulation. The control cables used in computer systems are usually insulated products made of polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene, cross-linked polyethylene, and fluoroplastics. The material of signal lines, precision metal materials, must smoothly generate interference signals. Ultra thin metal wires must have sufficient bending resistance to prevent metal fragments from affecting other electrical equipment.
In fact, there is a significant difference between these two types of cables. Signal lines are more commonly used for transmitting data signals and are shielded to prevent interference from external signals. Control cables are mainly used for transmitting electrical signals. Usually, there is no blocking. Suitable for PVC insulation used in industrial and mining enterprises, energy and transportation departments, as well as control systems for equipment control and protection lines with AC rated voltage below 450/750 volts.
